RockyMountain 2010 Celebration Sale
RockyMountain 2010 Celebration Sale is scheduled for Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the farm.
This is our 7th year of operation and it is time to share our progress with fellow breeders. All of our top cows including Secret, Macy’s family, Comestar Lautelmy Titanic and Gillette Shottle 2nd Moon will be offered for sale.
On offer will be one of the largest groups of Excellent and Very Good cows ever presented at an auction in Canada. The opportunity to buy high genomic females at this sale will give successful buyers an introduction to the lucrative new era of genomics in Holstein breeding!
There will be 100 head of cows, heifers and calves the majority born at RockyMountain Holsteins.
Following the sale RockyMountain Holsteins will rebuild the herd with pregnancies and embryos from many of the cows and heifers that will be sold.

Classification at RockyMountain Holsteins
The last 2 classification rounds at RockyMountain Holsteins have yielded exceptional results.
The herd average value for all cow classified has been 85.2 with 70% of these first calf heifers. Crackholm Emory Fashion is a first time Excellent at Excellent 92 and Pineriver Thunder Kelly scored 92 2E and Guyview Gibson Gina is 91 2E.
The 2nd lactation Greenlea-I SS Carrissa scored VG 89 the maximum possible for a 2nd lactation heifer. Two special 1st lactation heifers Gillette Shottle 2nd Moon one of the highest Genomic heifer in Canada scored VG87. Irwindale Leduc Madelynn, Macy’s full sister also scored VG-87.
We pleased that Macy’s daughter Dundee Matilda also scored VG-87 in her first lactation for Morsan.Two of our favorite cows raised their scores Comestar Lautlemy Titanic and Northen-Glo MacIntosh Red are both VG-87.
All of the above animals except Matilda and MacIntosh will sell in our RockyMountain 2010 Celebration Sale on September 18, 2010 at the Farm.
