Dr. David A. Chalack, Partner

Dr. David Chalack, DVM, is a well-respected breeder and cattle judge who has been active in the Holstein industry for the past 30 years. David was raised on a Holstein dairy farm and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. David has held a broad range of management positions with Alta Genetics Inc. a major livestock genetic improvement source for the world.

Currently David is the President and Chairman of the Board of the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede - one of the world's most recognizable Exhibitions and Festivals. David also currently serves as a director of Horse Racing Alberta and on the Dean's advisory council for the new University of Calgary Veterinary Medicine Faculty.

He has also served as a director of the Canadian Livestock Genetic Exporters Association. He is an official judge with Holstein Canada and has judged in over 14 countries. One of his most memorable achievements is to have shown the Grand Champion cow at World Dairy Expo, The Royal Winter Fair, and European Confrontation Show in Brussels.

David has had the pleasure to have developed and owned many All-Canadian and All-American Holsteins throughout his career and very much enjoys developing future sires of the Holstein breed by contributing elite genetics via RockyMountain Holsteins to various AI sampling programs.
