ROCKYMOUNTAIN HOLSTEINS is owned by the partnership of Doug Blair, Dr. David Chalack, and Glenn Hockley. The partners have been involved with Holsteins all their lives starting with their family farms: Doug (Langview in B.C.); David (Ultra in Alberta); and Glenn (Donovan in Manitoba).

The herd is managed by Ron Churchill, a dedicated cowman with previous experience at Altagen and Quality Holsteins. The herd is located 20 km west of Calgary, Alberta at the former Ultra Holstein farm of the Chalack family.

In 2008 ROCKYMOUNTAIN HOLSTEINS was the highest Genetic Index (LPI) herd in Western Canada and the 4th in Canada in herds 75 or larger.  This genetic quality has resulted in RockyMountain being suppliers of bulls to the AI Industry selling to Semex, Alta Genetics, ABS, Taurus, and GenerVations in North America and numerous European AI centres via our embryos. 

In  addition to our high genetic ratings ROCKYMOUNTAIN has been very successful in the show ring, winning awards in Western Canada and the Royal Winter Fair.  In 2008, the RMH cow Hautpre Rudbeckie Regiment was Senior Champion Red and White Holstein at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto and our Irwindale Leduc Macy was the All-Western Mature Cow.


Our goal at ROCKYMOUNTAIN HOLSTEINS is to breed the very best cattle for high production, conformation, and longevity and to supply top genetics via breeding stock and embryos to our customers worldwide.
